Nice Shades

Today at work, one of my coworkers showed me his most recent purchase, a wooden pair of sunglasses. Shwood is based in Portland, OR. The company's slogan "experimenting with nature", is so fitting! Each pair of sunglasses is personalized since no piece of wood is the same. Customers have different styles to choose from with various exotic woods and lenses. Although it takes about 3 weeks to get these gems, it is worth the wait. They are made to order, hand crafted and down right cool. Check them out here and take a look yourself.

Accessories: The Perfect Black Handbag

I've been on the search for a black leather bag for quite sometime. A black handbag is classic, never goes out of style and can be worn with an endless amount of styles. You can't go wrong...usually. Here are two of my favorite bags Marc by Marc Jacobs and Foley + Corinna. I love the pairing of gold plating with black leather.

Summer Fashion: Beachwear

Roberta Roller Rabbit Kurta $75-$85

Vilebrequin $200-$250

Now that it actually feels like summer in Chicago it's time to start rocking the beach wear. Summer is my favorite season -- with all the bright and colorful wardrobe options available. For women I adore these bathing suits available on www.shopbop.com. I'm loving the M Missoni and Parker bikinis which both have a zigzag print and popping colors. For a super cute beach cover up checkout Roberta Freymann's collection, Roberta Roller Rabbit . The kurta, a simple traditional Indian tunic, is the perfect beach cover-up. The fabulous prints are made by hand block printing in India. Every piece is unique, making it extra special. For men check out Vilebrequin, the definition of luxury men's swimwear. I wish this brand made suits for women. I absolutely love their fun and colorful prints. These trendy swim trunks from Saint-Tropez, take a confident man to wear them. They offer 4 different lengths from the Master (shortest), to the original 70's Mooree, Okoa (longer than the Mooree but shorter than the Ocean) and Ocean (typical boardshort and longest style). VoilĂ  surfs up!

My Life “To Do List”

Since graduating college a few weeks ago I decided to start making a list of things I need to accomplish.
  1. Learn how to drive stick shift
  2. Speak French fluently
  3. Live in London
  4. Travel to Sydney, Australia (seems fitting)
  5. Learn how to surf
  6. Conquer my fear of sharks by cage diving in Cape Town, South Africa
  7. Sky dive in Interlocken, Switzerland
  8. Live in California
More to come...

Nails Galore

"Russian Navy"

"Pinking Of You"

"Sexy Divide"
"Little Brown Dress"

Nail polish is one of my secret obsessions and I love splurging by getting my nails done. I never leave my nails unpainted and if do I feel naked. It's the one thing I'm OCD about. It can add to an outfit, make you look put together, add to your sense of style and classiness. Wearing the right color can be effortless as long you have the right eye. In the past few years, I have turned over to the dark side and have become an advocate for dark nail colors. No, this does not mean I'm a goth wearing black nail polish. Dark nail polish happens to be extremely chic. There are so many variations and some of my favorites include Essie's "Little Brown Dress", "Wicked" (dark brown/red), "Over the Top" (gun metal), "Sexy Divide" (deep glittery purple). From OPI I love "Russian Navy", "Ski Teal We Drop" (my newest favorite), "Suzi Ski's in the Pyrenees" (charcoal), "Suzi Says Da" (brown). If you're interested in mixing colors together Essie's "Marshmallow" and "Ballet Slipper" make the perfect nude light pink with a hint of white. OPI's "Pinking of You" is also one of my faves. My list could go on and on and I continue to add to my extravagant nail polish collection. You can never have enough!

Fall Fashion: Leather

I know it has been a while and instead of doing homework I'm going to update my abandoned blog. Recently I have become obsessed with finding a leather jacket. I've searched online and at stores to find the perfect one. After going home to Chicago a few weeks ago I was blinded by latest fall fashions seen out and about in the city. Leather coats are the perfect addition to skinny jeans or especially my new favorite the leggings and jeans combo, jeggings, or a cute fall dress with tights and tall boots. I absolutely adore this Via Spiga lambskin leather scuba coat and it's a priced pretty reasonably. Now all I have to do is convince my parents that this is a necessity...hmmm
